CANCER CAREGIVERS TESTIMONY

Before my wife was diagnosed with uterine cancer, life was peaceful. We had just moved into our new BTO flat, and I was joyfully engaged in mentoring ministry in Singapore and mission work in Sabah, Malaysia.

We often enjoyed holidays together as a family, cherishing those simple yet meaningful moments.

When I first heard that my wife had cancer, I was overwhelmed—sadness, disbelief, and shock all collided at once. Yet, the doctor spoke to us calmly, guiding us through the decision-making process. His assurance helped us take the first step forward: to face this reality together.

What anchored me was God’s clear voice. He assured me that He would walk with us, that He would repair my wife’s body, and He strengthened my resolve as a husband—to care for her no matter how difficult the journey might be.

Caregiving was not easy. Watching my wife so weak, lying almost motionless except when she needed to use the toilet, broke my heart. Many nights I cried out to God for help. Yet, He kept speaking to us—through Scripture and gentle impressions. His Word became my courage and strength: “Whom have I in heaven but You, O Lord? The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

When her treatment finally ended, we breathed a sigh of relief. We thanked God for carrying us through, for the unwavering support of our children, and for the encouragement of friends who visited. To celebrate, we took two holidays immediately after her recovery—a gift of rest and renewal.

Today, I live with a renewed outlook on life. Each day is a closer walk with God, depending on Him fully, knowing that my life rests in His hands. Praise God for His faithfulness.
